Honeycomb cardboard panels have excellent cushioning performance. It can also be used as cushioning pads and partition boards for packaging items like corrugated cardboard. The honeycomb core structure makes its cushioning performance superior to corrugated cardboard.
When used as a corner pad, one layer of face paper and core paper is usually cut according to size, leaving one layer of face paper intact to connect several pad pieces from different sides. It is then fitted onto the component to be protected. Similar to cushioning pads, honeycomb cardboard panels can also be used as corner supports and edge guards for transportation packaging units, particularly suitable for collective packaging. Honeycomb cardboard can also be die-cut to size for device positioning.
Due to its excellent plane compressive strength, honeycomb cardboard panels can be completely used for the upper and lower decking of pallets, and also for the longitudinal beams or padding blocks. The beams or padding blocks are made by combining several layers of thick honeycomb cardboard panels according to standard sizes, meaning the entire pallet is made of honeycomb cardboard panels. At present, produced by the professional honeycomb paper cutter, honeycomb pallets are replacing traditional wooden or plastic pallets due to their light weight, low material usage, low cost, high strength, and other physical properties. They do not need to be returned and can be disposed of after use.
Like corrugated cardboard boxes, honeycomb cardboard panels can also be processed into cartons. However, honeycomb cardboard panels are thicker, and bending affects its strength significantly, which inevitably affects the strength of the carton. Moreover, the processing of honeycomb cardboard boxes cannot be as convenient and fast as corrugated cardboard, making automated production difficult and production efficiency lower, thus limiting its application. Some small mechanical and electrical products can use honeycomb cardboard alone or in combination with corrugated cardboard.

Many are seeking high-quality, printable honeycomb cardboard as a foam substitute for cushioning packaging, and these honeycomb cardboard products can generally be 100% recyclable.
